Casa del Coliseo is a quiet calming retreat from the bustle of old town Cartagena. The colonial Spanish architecture makes it feel like you’re inside someones luxurious villa and not a hotel. The staff was absolutely phenomenal! I got very sick upon arriving to Cartagena and they constantly checked on me and offered to call a doctor multiple times and seemed genuinely worried about my well-being. I also have severe dietary restrictions (celiac) (gluten free) and they were able to make my breakfast entirely gluten free and safe for me to eat. The roof top pool is a quiet retreat from the excitement down on the streets. The rooms are sound proof and it’s necessary on the weekends as the city is lively and out in full swing. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

(Especially finding veggie restaurants for me!) we felt so safe and taken care of - there wasn’t a second we didn’t feel looked after. Also the room cleaning and turning down was so amazing not once did anyone knock on our door. We would leave and return and it would be clean or the doors and curtains closed like magic! Thank you so much!

Prime location within the old city. Every street we took seemed to place us back at the hotel without even trying- that’s how central it was to the action. That being said, if you don’t like the action/nightlife, it can be a lot. I slept with ear plugs provided by the hotel, and they worked well. Breakfast got me out of bed every morning; they had yummy continental and Colombian offerings. I would happily recommend this hotel!
